The art techniques include the principles of drawing with graphite and colored pencils, and the principles of calligraphy (lettering). Through mini-art history lessons students will explore art from prehistoric to the time of the renaissance to understand why we create art, and explore their creativity through a series of brainstorms. INDEPENDENT STUDY IN ART I First Semester 12 Credit INDEPENDENT STUDY IN ART II Second Semester 12 Credit Independent Study in Art is designed for the student who has the self-discipline and the drive to work alone on projects of their design. The course is divided into 6 units for creating art from initial concept to final product (presentation), while using a variety of materials (media).
